5K District Initiative Events

Impact visits local high schools for half-day college readiness events. Typically the entire junior class attend the events. At the discretion of the counselors senior and/or sophomore level students may also attend. Teachers bring their entire class to the assembly. During the four hour period, information on the college selection, admissions and financial aid process is covered. As an added perk for students, admissions and/or financial aid professionals from a wide variety of local and out-of-state colleges are invited to participate. Representatives have the opportunity to speak directly to students and answer questions.

IMPACT Events

All Events are free of charge and open to the public. We are focusing our efforts on impacting change at the community level. The largest annual event is the College Readiness Summit. This event is unique in that we network with local counselors from various Chicago-land high schools to refer their students to participate. Teachers, counselors, administrators and community leaders are encouraged to attend. At the event students and parents hear practical tips on college planning. The college selection, admission and financial aid process is covered. College Affiliates serve as moderators and speakers. This is a great event for parents and college bound students to attend! Location: Tinley Park Convention Center, Saturday July 28th, 12-3pm.
